Established in 2009, the Summersong festival is all about putting songwriters in an intimate setting and letting the audience connect with both the artist and their music in a way that larger venues just don't allow. The principle is simple. Take an aritst or band and throw away the set list and let the audience tell them what they want to hear and allow the act to give some insight about the inspiration for their songs.
Due to the limited financial resources of the festival we are not always able to have all the acts that we want to appear, yet despite this we are never short of great acts who embrace what the festival stands for and appear for a fraction of their normal fee. This is what makes SSF so special.
We would like to thank Bobsie Mullan of The Griffin and all his staff for their unwaivering belief in what we do along with Tam Ballach and Garry John Kane for their help, passion and commitment to live music and of course all the wonderful artist who perform at the festival and all you music lovers who come to see them.
